3G Pitch Hire
During the school year 2017/18 our school facilities were further improved with the addition of a state of the art, 3G synthetic pitch.
In March 2018, Moss Construction and SIS Pitches completed work on the project which involved the Mid Ulster District Council, Department for Communities and the Education Authority. The full-size synthetic pitch was stitched with SISTurf on a prefabricated shockpad, ensuring top-class performance, durability and player comfort.

The surface meets not only FIFA but also GAA and World Rugby performance standards.

Along the way, the project gathered recognition in the community and was nominated as a finalist in the NI Local Government Awards.

Mr Berry, Mr Bell and Mr Patterson were delighted to represent Aughnacloy College at the Northern Ireland Local Government Awards held in La Mon Hotel.

Our 3G pitch project, which is in partnership between the Dept for Communities, Dept of Education, Mid Ulster District Council and local community was a finalist within the category of Best Initiative by a Council/Council Group.
The pitch was officially opened by Lord Morrow on 10th May 2018. As expected, a great crowd turned up on the day to enjoy the various activities on offer.

Your support is very much appreciated by everyone involved with both our school and the local community in Aughnacloy who now have a state of the art sports facility to make use of.
The pitch is available for public hire during afterschool hours and weekends.
